These are possibly one of the strangest foods I’ve ever eaten. It’s a fried tofu pocket filled with edamame and carrot that looks sort of like a deflated chicken nugget. The smell (indescribable) and texture (spongy) are also odd.
There’s no sauce provided, but a little soy sauce or Trader Joe’s soyaki will do the job. Overall, this doesn’t taste terrible, but there are so many better foods at Trader Joe’s that this won’t make it into my cart again.
I’m not sure who this product is targeted to. Most adults are going to be turned off by the appearance and many kids are going to feel tricked when they find vegetables inside their nugget.
Trader Joe’s Fearless Flyer suggests dipping these in ketchup or ranch and using them to make Mex-Asian fusion tacos or burritos. I don’t think so!

These are delicious. If you’re not vegetarian or appreciate veg food, you won’t like them.
Definitely a substitute for chicken nuggets!!
