It’s a bad sign when the photo on the box isn’t very appetizing, but I like mushrooms and creamy sauce so I still had hope for this frozen entrée.
Unfortunately, the mushroom flavor is so strong that it overwhelms all the other ingredients. Plus, this dish has so little texture that it spreads out to an unappealing one inch high blob if you serve it on a plate. The top two ingredients are mushroom sauce and béchamel sauce and this is just too much sauce given the thin, flat noodles and lack of substantial pieces of vegetables or cheese.
I suspect this lasagna is made by the same vendor that makes the black truffle flatbread since the flavor is very similar. However, the flatbread works better because the bread provides much needed texture and balance to the mushroom sauce.
Fortunately, TJ’s has three other lasagnas – garden vegetable, spinach and roasted vegetable – that are all worth a try.

I just tried it and LOVE it. SOOO GOOD. I microwaved it because I’m impatient. It’s probably even better baked. But no matter – SUPER GREAT.

I completely expected to love this, and looked forward to trying it. Soooo disappointing! Like mushroom gravy on thin pasta. Not like lasagna. The photo is deceiving…No visible layers….it all kind of blended/merged together and looked like a square beige blob. Very unattractive. Taste? It could be good, if they improved it with distinct layers and more textured ingredients. We didn’t finish it.

I totally disagree with this review. I am absolutely addicted to TJ’s Porcini Mushroom Lasagna. It is delicious!! A tip for cooking..bake in oven, not in the microwave. This is a melt-in-your-mouth delight!!

I’d been eyeing this product on my last few trips to TJ’s. I decided to give it a try today. Perhaps it’s important to mentioned that I followed the microwaving directions. There was way too much cheese and the consistency was horrible. Flavor was mediocre. I ended up taking a few bites and throwing it away.

I like all TJ’s products, but the porcini muschoom lasagna was awful. I agree with the first comment, the lasagna was limp, tasteless, with an overwhelming mushroom smell.

I just had this tonight for the first time and it was amazing! Up there as one of the best things I’ve had from trader joes. I hope they continue to stock this as it was really delicious!

I had to comment; I just ate this…right now..it was super great. Yes, it was creamy…yes it tasted like mushrooms…my only complaint..not enough cheese…but I have a cheese problem which means I always think things need more cheese.. overall…highly recommend it 🙂

Googled this as it may well be the best thing I’ve ever had from Trader Joes. So delicious, actually tastes like mushrooms, pasta tastes freshly made. YUM!

I actually think the complete opposite of this review, this lasagna is delicious! The picture on the packaging is what drove me to buy it. It tastes like mushrooms like it’s supposed to and not overwhelming at all. It’s the perfect portion for lunch. The creamy sauce is flavorful and filling and is the right balance of cream and cheese. YUM!

I just ate this lasagna for the first time and i really love it. The mushroom flavor is strong, but I love mushrooms so it was heavenly. I guess i’m going to have to stock up on them since it’s not getting good reviews.

I disagree with the reviewer’s evaluation of the Porcini Mushroom Lasagna. The powerful flavor of the mushroom is very appealing and is indeed reminiscent of the flatbread. I don’t consider this a negative — but rather very much a positive.
I hope TJ’s continue to carry this product. I enjoy it very much in the evening when I want something “light” for dinner — one half of the lasagna cut into bite-size squares and a glass of white wine. Maybe other light finger food on the plate. It hits the spot for me… especially if it is too late for a heavy dinner after a yoga class or workout.
