Trader Joe’s Caesar Style Salad mix makes it into my cart every week because it’s an easy way to round out a pizza or pasta dish. 3 pineapples for this salad staple.
This kits consists of romaine lettuce, croutons, shredded parmesan and salad dressing. The dressing does not contain egg or anchovies, which I guess is why it’s called a Caesar Style Salad. The toppings are generous and in fact I usually don’t use all the croutons or dressing.
I find all Caesar salads, not just TJ’s, a bit unexciting so I often embellish this salad kit with shredded carrot, cherry tomatoes, and olives.
The only complaint I have about this salad kit is that the lettuce is usually already turning brown in the store. Lettuce should be hand torn instead of cut with a blade to reduce browning, but that’s not feasible for a mass produced salad. If the browning bothers you, try the other Spinach Salad kit which uses a base of baby spinach and stays fresh looking much longer.
