In addition to a couple frozen burger patty options, Trader Joe’s carries these fresh tofu veggie burger patties in their refrigerated case. 3 pineapples for this burger basic.
These patties are a good base for a satisfying burger, but really benefit from some creative toppings. I like mine with avocado, barbecue sauce and spicy mustard or sauteed mushrooms and gouda cheese.
TJ’s patties are very similar to Wildwood brand tofu burgers I’ve bought in other stores. It’s important to note that these patties are not at all like real burger patties, so don’t even try to pass them off to your carnivore friends. The texture is a bit rubbery and the inside is yellow – definitely for vegetarian tastes.
Serve with a side salad for a healthy accompaniment or go all out with a side of Trader Joe’s Garlic Fries or Sweet Potatoes Fries.
